■One Month Since the Disaster (2009/10/30)

One month has passed since September 26’s Typhoon Ketsana devastated the lives of people of Luzon in the Philippines. KnK started the final distribution of supplies this week to the typhoon survivors.
Though time passes, the houses, household goods, and furniture that were washed away in the muddy stream never return.
People have barely lived day by day, have no tools or materials to rebuild their houses with or cannot afford to buy them.
In a house made with a wall left behind after the flood and a tarp provided by KnK live a family of four.

Five families of nineteen live in a shelter in a public space.
Young people are playing sports right next to them.

They say the view of the river has completely changed.

The changes in water level as the water retreated can be observed on the shore.

Puddles are found where they never used to be, and a poor environment was created. Children play lively in such an environment.

People cannot purchase materials to rebuild their houses
after mud and debris are removed manually.
