■Hearing Survey Started in the Affected Areas (2009/9/30)

A mother and child interviewed by a KnK staff member for survey on September 29

The water level surged before I knew it, and muddy water rushed into the house. Our house barely maintains its shape, but I hear another storm is coming next week, and so I decided to stay at the shelter in the KnK Center (non-official educational center for children) at night. All of our furniture and household goods were swept away, and I don’t know how we can survive tomorrow…

Four of the local KnK members in the Philippines lost their houses but are working hard to help children. As of September 30, 34 children are temporarily staying at the early-opened new House for Youth. Members of KnK Tokyo Office are arriving on October 1 to start providing emergency aid.
